Sara began her journey in the beauty industry in 2001, in her hometown of Port Jefferson Station, New York and her passion for her field continues to grow with each passing year. What began as an interest in “playing with hair” developed into a career as a Professional Hairstylist who genuinely strives to exceed expectations at each visit. Sara takes tremendous pride in getting to know each guest and their needs to deliver a high quality, customized look, while ensuring that it is still achievable at home. She specializes in long and short haircutting, with an emphasis in “hard-to-manage” textures, as well as the latest dimensional color techniques, corrective hair color and hair extensions. Sara believes that it is the job of the hairstylist to make each guest they are entrusted with feel well cared for and more confident stepping out into the world, and she considers it an honor to be able to play a role in that for her guests. “He who works with his hands is a laborer. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands, his head and his heart is an artist.” -St. Francis of Assisi
In 2015 Sharon made a major transition from a 19 year career in Design Engineering to Cosmetology. Inspired as a young girl watching her aunt, a southern Louisiana beautician and salon owner, make women look and feel like they could take on the world, she saw an opportunity to turn her creative outlet and hobby of many years into a fulfilling career that would play a part in the empowerment of other women. Sharon strongly believes that if a guest does not feel empowered in some sort of way, then she hasn't done what she's set out to do. She always strives for perfection and understands the importance of getting to know each of her guests' desires and concerns. Sharon believes there is something to be learned in everything and from everyone, seeks inspiration everywhere and loves the feeling of knowing she has played a part in making a woman feel more beautiful and confident.
I’m a skin care enthusiast! I started on my career path when I completed the esthetics program at the Aveda Institute in Charlotte, NC, and then passed the NC State Board esthetics exam in 2010. Less than a year later, I decided to get medical training to be able to work in the medical esthetics field. I graduated from King’s College in August 2012 with an Associate’s Degree in Medical Assisting. Currently, I’m a medical assistant, as well as a licensed esthetician. Since graduating in 2012, I have worked as a medical assistant for 2.5 years in dermatology practices, and have spent almost 2 years as a medical assistant, skin care and recovery specialist at a very successful plastic surgery practice in North Carolina. After my incredible and extremely valuable work experience, having completed various continuing education courses and obtaining multiple procedural certifications, I am so happy to have a career doing what I love, and helping clients achieve their goals for their skin.
EmOcean (Elise McCutcheon) was born and raised in San Diego California has been practicing Hatha Yoga since she was 16 years old. Born to a family of artists, she had always understood the healing aspect of creative expression. She was inspired to paint by her grandmother who was an amazing oil painter and seamstress. She loved to paint, dance and sing and found yoga as a way to fully express her emotions. She began working with her yoga instructor Jerome Gross (Effulgence Yoga Therapy) to bring children’s yoga into the public alternative schools. They started an organization called California School Fitness in 2001 were they brought children’s yoga to severely emotionally disturbed youth and to after school programs around the city. In 2005 she traveled to the Virgin Islands in the Caribbean, to attend the University of the Virgin Islands and received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She brought her knowledge of children’s yoga to the youth at Kidscope, a counseling center for abused young women. After her first yoga class with the girls, a mute child spoke her first words in 9 years. EmOcean knew she was on the right path. EmOcean continued to teach art, swimming, snorkeling and yoga to the girls for the next 2 1/2 years. She also filmed her yoga video at Sapphire beach in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. In Winter of 2009 she followed the wind to East Africa to teach Art and Yoga Therapy to HIV Positive children and families in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya. She participated in numerous art shows and events while in Kenya and was ever humbled by her life there. From 2010 to 2012 she was cruising the Caribbean sea, teaching art and yoga to children and crew members on the largest cruise ship in the world, “The Allure of the Seas. In 2011. She trained as a Thai Yoga Massage Therapist and facilitated the Children’s Yoga Summer Camp at Synergy Yoga in South Beach Miami. She was inspired to have found her healing powers of touch. It was her new-found purpose to help heal others from physical and emotional pain. EmOcean decided to dedicate her life to healing others and has become a certified Ayurveda Yoga Therapist from the Sivananda Ashram in the Bahamas and a Watsu Aquatic Bodywork Therapist (Mermaid Massage) offering her clients a unique healing experience in the water. She has also evolved “EmOcean Arts” into “EmOcean Healing Arts” and offers healing sessions on the beach and in the water. EmOcean found success over the years and in May 2016 moved her practice to an ocean front 2bdrm condo with a seaside spa and indoor treatment room, art and yoga studio. Her dream had come true to have a home studio where clients could come be healed by the ocean. In September 2016 hurricane Irma and Maria blew a strong catergory 5 and her home did not survive but she and her unborn son did. They were able to evacuate the island and come back to Miami where she returned to school at Educating Hands school of massage to obtain her Florida Massage License all while giving birth to her son half way through the program. Ten months later she is ready to return to her healing practice.
